Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s corporate VP and consumer chief marketing officer, tweeted that “we’re happy to confirm the new Bing is running on GPT-4, which we’ve customized for search.” In addition, Mehdi also replied to some users’ tweets, indicating that Bing AI has been using GPT-4 for a while.
Bing AI or Bing Chat is available to use for free, but users may need to join a waitlist. The access may come in a week’s time. To use Bing AI or Bing Chat, users can download the Bing app or use Bing Search on the Microsoft Edge browser. The company is also adding Bing AI to the taskbar and some Microsoft services, such as Skype.
The new GPT-4 is more powerful, accurate, and sophisticated than its predecessors. It can even write lengthy movie scripts, and its capabilities have been showcased to outperform GPT-3.5 in various examinations. GPT-4 is also more efficient in understanding other languages than previous models.
Once the GPT-4 API is available, developers worldwide, including Indian developers, can integrate it into their tools.
